Gardens

everyone in Rampart has a garden so we weeded a lot of gardens at first we dreaded it but we soon realized weeding was so easy compared to the other things we did like hauling lumber or stacking wood.

VBS

Saturday through Wednesday we held Vacation Bible School for the kids.  We had a average of ten kids each day.  The first day we scared them the second day the brave souls who came back realized we weren't so scary.    We taught them the 4 most importent things in the world: God loves me, I have sinned, Jesus died for me and I need to decide to live for God.
Shelby and Gary doing the countdown and helping with the bible story
We had a parachute and a football and the kids loved to play with them.

The potty's

These are the beautiful bathrooms that we were privileged to use.  They were extremely dirty and smelly and you might have heard about the mosquito's.  The bathroom was their favorite hang out and they will bite you anywhere and everywhere.  I will never complain about dirty bathrooms again, I have learned that a dirty bathroom is better then no bathroom at all.  The "toilet" is made of styrofoam with hole in it.  We were told by the villagers that no one uses that outhouse because it is so bad.  So I am not exaggerating.  Thankfully, 2 days before we left they opened up the bathrooms at the shower house!

The best :)

I'm pretty convinced that they had best TL's ever  and they had the best team ever!

Rampart update from Last Frontier 7/13/13

Rampart update. Today a local villager arrived with a barge full of building materials for his family's new home. I think Sam said it was 25,000 lbs worth of lumber. The team was able to serve this family by unloading all of it. This project took them a good five hours. The family was blessed with amazing helpers and our team was blessed to be able to serve in such a great way and to share Gods kindness with others. The family eagerly invited Sam and Rob to stay at their home whenever they revisit Rampart. The villager said they will always make room for them! Thanks Rampart team for making a great impact!

Welcome Home Emma 7/24/13!! :)

The female part of the Rampart team!

labeled by Jamie as "My family!"
top to bottom left to right:Jamie, Shelby, Me, Hannah and Ana
I am tired not grumpy!

Be courageous

The team is in their final session learning how to hold on to their courage they learned on their trip. The Project Directors and Team Leaders will have a chance to pray over the missionaries one last time before sending them back to their homes. Thank you for the opportunity to meet and love on your children and family members. We were so blessed to be apart of their lives for a moment and we hope forever! Be Courageous!

30% club

The team joined the 30% club when God opened up the sky for us to view Denali (as it's referred to locally) or Mt McKinley. It is usually covered and only 30% of Alaskan visitors get to see the peak. We were so blessed to see the highest mt in North America!

We heard her voice!

saying goodbye for now... this is not from Emma's team...but I thought it was beautiful!
That sounds so silly, but for those of you who are mom's...you know.  You know how much you can tell in one word.  She is full!  I can't wait to listen!

She called at almost midnight our time last night and only had a few minutes before dinner.  We talked about 15 minutes, and while she could have called back later, we promised to talk to her this morning as it is a very full day for our family here.

This is from her team leader, Jamie, facebook.  "Well we said bye to the people in rampart ( one sad moment) were heading back to meet up with the rest of our team !!! God did amazing things sad trip is coming to a end

These other pics are ones that I have taken from various team members facebook pages.  I can't wait to hear this story through my Emma's eyes.

Thanks for praying, please continue to do so as she processes on all that she had seen, heard and experienced!
