another facebook post
Here we go!! We are on our way to drop our teams off in the villages of Nenana, Minto and Rampart. Had a great morning worship session lead by one of our own team members! Please continue to pray for traveling grace for the project as we separate today. Don't be discouraged if the posts and photos are not as often going forward, as we are limited by signal where we will be. We will continue to post as often as we can. Thanks for your continued prayers and support!
That's my girl!
I have been waiting to see the smile that says all is well. This is it! Thank You God for modern technology!

Headed to Healy, Alaska
Em called last night at about 12:30 am our time. It was 7 something pm their time. She was using a friends phone, so we only got to talk for about 5 minutes, but she sounded good.
The next leg of the journey is to Healy, Alaska. So this mama has to know more information and went searching.
The population was 971 at the 2007 census. Area: 669 sq miles
I think that she said she needed to travel 4 hours to get to Healy and then would be traveling via boat to Rampart.
One of her team mates posted that it was "cold" when they arrived in Anchorage. It was 60 degrees.
This certainly has been a great adventure. Thanks for praying, please continue to do so.

"Thank You God for traveling mercies!"
2 facebook posts and pics that we want to remember
from the global expedition leaders: It's early, but the team is so excited to get going! We begin our departure to Alaska today and packed with God's power, strength and guidance our teams are ready! Each of us has a unique gift to bring to the people in our respective villages and we are prepared to share those gifts! Please continue to pray for traveling safety for not only our team but all the country teams that leave today from campus. We love you all and can feel your support and prayers behind us!
from my friend Kristina: Well, my Kyra should be in the air heading to Alaska from Texas by now. They had to be up and on buses this morning very early. All cell phones will be held by the leaders during the next two weeks so the kids can focus on their mission. They are unplugging from technology that is all so often a distraction from what God would have for us. The next time I can talk to Kyra wil be when she gets to her final destination city in Alaska.
Once ministry begins in Alaska, leadership will set aside specific times when participants will be allowed to utilize personal cell phones at their own discretion. These times will be very limited and may only occur every 3-4 days as the schedule allows. Their leaders will have their phones with which to call the office in Texas, who will update the FB page so we can see how things are going.

a ministry idea....
One of the things that Em shared last night is that her team was brainstorming ideas as to how to be a blessing to this village. One of the things that they are thinking of is planning a dinner and inviting the entire village. (last known count 24 people). :) I LOVE that idea. What a great way to get to know the community and serve them. I am praying for creative ideas for this team to be the hands and feet of Jesus to this village.
